NYCAEYC Service to the Field Honor
The NYCAEYC Service to the Field Honor recognizes an NYCAEYC member who:
- Is an educator (school/center or family-based programs)
- Works in higher education
- Works for a professional organization that provides training and support to early childhood professionals and students
- Works for an agency that serve the needs, rights, and well being of young children
Nominees can be:
- From full-day child care centers
- Half-day preschools
- School-age child care
- Kindergarten and primary education (public and private)
- Infant/toddler programs
- Schools/centers/agencies serving children with special needs
- Home-based child care programs
- Schools/Centers/Agencies serving children with special needs
Criteria for selection — the nominee must:
- Be a current member of NYCAEYC. The nominee may not be a current Board member or a member of the award subcommittee.

- Have demonstrated:
- Dedication to improving the quality of life for young children and their families.
- Superior ability to inspire members toward professionalism through dedication and concern for young children.
- Professional and personal qualities that clearly indicate that this person is outstanding in her or his field.

- Be nominated by one or more of the following:
- Current or past colleague or student of the nominee
- Current NYCAEYC Board Member
- Current NYCAEYC Committee Chairpersons
